Combined 1 8-1 Beaverhill (13/2/2015)

Team: Han, Eliza, Sam; Steve, Ad, Joe

Player of the match: Steve

Another full strength team for Broomgrove saw our named 6 face Beaverhill at the Pearson Building.  The match started a little slowly as one of the away players thought we began at 7.30pm rather than 7pm.  Once all were present and correct, we had some fun tight games.

The men’s rubbers were both won in two.  Han and Eliza won theirs in two, while Hannah and Sam were beaten in two. 3-1 Broomgrove.

I was interested to see how our mixed pairings would fare against the strong Beaverhill pairing of Brett and Lynn.  Some really high level badminton from all involved saw the Broomgrove pairings take both rubbers (Ad and Eliza in 2 and Joe and Sam in 3).  Hannah and Steve completed the clean sweep of mixed games with a win in two.  8-1 Broomgrove.

So a hard fought match against a competitive side in Beaverhill.  We wish them all the best for the remainder of the season.

Stats from the match:

Hannah W = 110, L = 101, diff = 9, wr = 52%

Eliza      W = 126, L = 99, diff = 27, wr = 56%

Sam      W = 127, L= 120, diff – 7, wr = 51%

Steve     W = 126, L = 78, diff = 48, wr = 62%

Adam     W = 125, L = 88, diff = 38, wr = 59%

Joe         W = 143, L = 108, diff = 35, wr = 57%

Averages for the season:

Hannah W = 119, L = 112, diff = 6.5, wr = 52%

Eliza      W = 134, L = 94,  diff = 40,  wr = 59%

Sam      W = 125, L = 115, diff = 9.8, wr = 52%

Steve     W = 131, L = 94, diff = 33, wr = 58%

Adam     W = 134, L = 89, diff = 45, wr = 60%

Joe         W = 136, L = 99, diff = 37, wr = 58%

So Adam is still heading up the biggest win ration of the season, but Steve takes the player of the match for the biggest improvement on their average!
