Beaverhill 9 – 0 Ladies (4/10/13)

It’s always tough to start the season with an away game, but thanks to a last minute delivery of our team kit, we looked like a team meaning business. Round one of rubbers started off well with Sam and Hannah narrowly losing to Beaverhill’s first pairing 21-18 and 21-15. Sally and Ada did one better by winning their first game to 19, only to be defeated 21-14 and 21-10 in the final two games to lose the rubber. Becca and Sonja managed to get 21-15 and 21-7 respectively. 3-0 to Beaverhill after round one.

Round two continued as we have started with Hannah and Sam just about making it into double figures, Sally and Ada losing 21-18 and 21-7 and this round went to Becca and Sonja, losing to Beaverhills first pairing 23 – 21; 21-13. 6-0 to Beaverhill after round two. With the game already lost, we needed to make sure to get at least a few points out of the fixture. Unfortunately the much needed points didn’t materialise even though Sally and Ada managed to take another game to three, losing to their first pairing 17-21, 21-14, 21-19. So close…

Tough match against a tough opposition. However we are pleased to say that the ladies of Beaverhill did at least look like they have been working out and we didn’t make it easy for them. Onwards and upwards. GO BROOMGROVE
