Broomgrove Ladies 5 – Ecclesfield 4 (2/2/11)

This was a much tighter game than many of us expected, with us only managing to get a very narrow win over Ecclesfield ladies at home.

The scores after 6 games were even, meaning that all three pairings went on court for their final games at the same time, knowing that 2 out of 3 of us would have to win to secure an overall win. No pressure then…

Thankfully Sally and Kalyani as well as Becca and Ada did their job perfectly and by the time Mary and myself came off court for a respite, before going in for the third rubber of our final game, we had already won the match. Maybe that’s why we didn’t manage to pick up that last point. It may also be that we were pretty exhausted after our second very closely fought game of the evening.

Thank you to team Broomgrove for never giving up and fighting down to the last rubber of the night (well nearly the last). Well done girls, yet again.
