Please see details below for the forthcoming 35th Steel City Beer and Cider Festival.
It’s a chance for Broomgrovers and company to socialise off court once again.
The organisers are promoting the event as: “Bigger and better – last year we filled a tent in a park with beer, cider, music, food and general happiness and you flocked in and drunk us dry. So we’re doing it again, only with more of everything! We plan on opening with a choice of around 100 different real ales and around 25 different ciders & perrys, plus continental beers and fruit wine”.
This year, the beer festival lasts for three days (starting Thursday 1st Oct, until Saturday 3rd October) and is being held in Cemetery Park.
It’s most likely that people would want to/can go on Saturday 3rd October. Saturday’s entertainment includes performances by Treebeard, who are playing a selection of rock, pop, folk (and even country) songs in their own inimitable way. The band describe their style as “Heavy Wood”.

For those who are interested, I suggest it would be worth looking at the group booking (for 6 people or more) in advance option, which can get you up to 20% off and includes:
• Entry to the festival
• Souvenir festival pint glass
• £5 worth of beer tokens
• Festival programme
All the above for £8 per person. Bargain.
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to go, but in my absence I’m sure that won’t stop you from heading down to Cemetery Park, sampling a beer or few and rocking out to Treebeard.
I’m sure a good time will be had by all who go. Enjoy.
