Broomgrove Badminton Social – The Sheffield Round Walk (Sunday 20th September)

Broomgrove Badminton Social Event
The Sheffield Round Walk – take two
Sunday 20th September – meeting at 11am –Endcliffe Park café

This is an invitation to all Broomgrove badminton players, members and associates to take part in a club social activity that gets us in the outdoors and appreciating the scenery of Sheffield.

The walk starts at Endcliffe Park, goes through Porter Valley to Ringinglow and descends through the Limb Valley and Ecclesall Woods before climbing through Ladies Spring Wood and Chancet Wood to Graves Park. The walk then continues from Graves Park through the Gleadless Valley, Meersbrook Park and Chelsea Park before returning finally to the start/finish at Endcliffe Park“. (The Sheffield Round Walk Guide – I have a copy of the guide which I can bring with me).

Originally, a 10 mile walk, but in recent years it has been extended through The Gleadless Valley, Meersbrook Park and Chelsea Park before returning to Endcliffe Park. The average length of time to complete the walk will vary, depending on the number of people, weather conditions, number of stop-breaks (e.g. cafés, parks and pubs) and people’s general level of fitness. But it’ll probably take around 5-6 hours.

A few members of the club enjoyed doing this walk last year in May, and due to popular demand we’re doing it again. Hopefully we’ll get good weather.

It’ll be likely that we will round up the day at a local pub for a post-walk tea and a well deserved beverage or two.

To take part in this event, meet up at Endcliffe Park café, at 11am on Sunday 20th September. Bring some munchies and liquids to keep you going.

Colleagues/friends/other halves welcome.

Let me know if you can make it.

Look forward to hearing from you.
