Broomgrove Mens vs. Wisewood II 7-2 (27/02/09)

Adam:
The broomgrove team on a high from last weeks 9-0 whoopass were hosting Wisewood2 this week. Raj was on holiday and so Antoine made his second appearance in the team. A nervous start by Adam and Antoine was good enough to win their first game, while Gerry and Peter playing the Wisewood 1st pair won in 3 games, while Mark and Jason also going to a 3rd game lost in a close encounter. Antoine and Adam with their confidence improved after their first victory playing together, won convincingly against the 2nd pairing and the win was again backed up by Gerry and Peter winning their fixture making it 4-2. Only one more win needed which was provided by Peter and Gerry winning their third rubber of the match. Peter forcing the winning point on the winning rubber to all but guarantee promotion for the first time in a decade for the mens team. Antoine and Adam played brilliantly together against the oppositions first pairing to win all 3 of their rubbers. To put icing on the cake mark and Jason also won their last rubber to ake it 7-2 on the night. Indeed we may not need to lift a racket to numerically certify promotion as Abbeydale will be playing Wisewood 1 before Broomgrove play again. The next target however is to beat Abbeydale to make sure promotion is as champions!

Well done guys!
Adam
