Stocksbridge II vs. Broomgrove Combined 10-01-08

Our return match against this good team was no disappointment, as Broomgrove just managed to edge the game out in a 5-3 win.

A team of Penny, Sally, Susan W., Cray, Michael and me set out on the long journey to Stocksbridge. A scenic route and a few detours later, we arrived at Stocksbridge High school with a surprising amount of time in hand.

This is a match that will be remembered for the number of hard fought 3 game rubbers, and games being won by 2 points. For sure, two very enjoyable matches against the Stocksbridge team we have had.

Our very much changed side welcomed Penny and Michael for their first games of the campaign. A specials thanks to Michael for making up the team as he missed a theatre production meeting to attend.

Our next match is an away fixture against Wisewood on the 30th January as we look to continue our winning run.

Go Broomgrove!

    Cheers Rajio.

It was a tough game, and everyone had to be at their best.It finished one match early as the security guard was keen to finish bang on time, bit luckily we’d won by then 🙂 .

    good stuff.

What is the emblem on the right of your comment you’ve posted on this thread?

When you have a (free) account with wordpress, you have an option putting an avatar up. Due to my unfortunate looks, it opted against a photo of me!

That there is the Yorkshire White Rose. I’d have thought a Lancastrian like yourself would not only have recognised it but had it firmly pinned up on your dart board!

Tis funny how your photo got rejected as an avatar! I thought that pretty much any random physical characteristics were allowed – guess not eh.

Indeed the Yorkshire white rose is now a familiar sight, although I have historically been much more familiar to the red Lancashire rose – We surely can allow freedom of expression and representation on this site for all members of Broomgrove heritage! 🙂 Now how do I put up pictures on this thing.
